I Have a Dream

by Diane last modified 2009-07-20 12:20

I have a dream nestled deep in my heart

It was planted a long time ago

Like a seed it was planted in fertile soil

And it sprouted and started to grow

The love that you showed me became the food

And your Spirit the water that flowed

Refreshing the dry ground and softening the clay

You enabled the root system to grow

I have a dream that your power can flow

From this old clay vessel that’s me

And pour out like treasure to this needy world

Bringing healing and setting men free

This dream is played out on the screens of my mind

Like an epic in glorious colour

It's a widescreen that takes in the whole of my life

With surround sound that fills up my hearing

My dream has no backer to make it all happen

Rejected by people and scorned

The storms that have raged in my life for so long

Have left my dream tattered and torn

I have a dream that burns deep in my heart

And against all the odds it survived

To stand strong against all of the doubt and the fear

It has grown to engulf all my life

And though sometimes it seems that my spiritual dream

Is a fantasy built by my ego

You will complete this work You have begun

In Your time it will happen I know.
